Hotchkiss | Delta County

Hotchkiss is a community in Delta County surrounded by nature and wildlife. The statutory town with a population of just under 1,000 residents presents a mix of real estate ranging from smaller homes, condos, and mobile homes, along with sprawling private estates with additional acreage and outbuildings. The town's core offers a few businesses and existing private homes, mainly two, three, or four bedrooms. Neighborhood highlights:

Delta County is home to many breweries, wineries, distilleries, and tasting rooms. Grape harvests in the county happen between mid-August and mid-October, with most of the harvest occurring in September. Harvest is followed by "the crush," and many wineries will let you come and watch.

Signature wine events in the region include the Eckert Crane Days Winemakers Reception, the Garvin Mesa Tour, North Fork Uncorked, the West Elks Wine Tour, the Annual Hard Cider Festival, the Grand Vin, and the Stone Cottage Cellars Wine Pairings.

The Hotchkiss Post Office has been sending and receiving mail since 1882.

The town is named after Enos T. Hotchkiss, a Western pioneer, and member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
