Olathe | Montrose County

Olathe is located between Delta and Montrose along U.S. Highway 50. The statutory town is in Montrose County and has a population of around 2,000 residents. Olathe is named after the town in eastern Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City) with the same name. "Olathe" is derived from the Shawnee Indian word for "beautiful."

The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival has been an annual event every summer since 1992. The festival features craft shows, karaoke, local acts, and concerts. Former headliners include LeAnn Rimes, Clint Black, Wynona Judd, and Rodney Atkins. All proceed benefit local nonprofits.
