Supporting a neighbor in need, five Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties’ Montrose office associate brokers, and Green-Way Pro owner Leon Leiba came to the aid of local Montrose resident, Cathy Patch, to clean up her yard and field on Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Patch, a former Naval nurse, and a respiratory therapist, has been battling cancer for more than two years, with limited energy to do any kind of yard or physically demanding work. She was nominated by friends to be helped out as part of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties’ Spring Clean-Up to assist a neighbor in need.
The five Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties broker associates, including Donna Justin, Autumn Barrett, Brian Unrein, Makaya Cervone and Trena Unrein, donated a collective 25 hours filling five construction-sized bags, an 8’ x 12’ Green-Way Pro tractor bed, and the back end of Barrett’s truck with hundreds of pounds of weeds, grass, and other yard debris. They also helped plant flowers in Patch’s front yard.
About the Spring Clean-Up
In its inaugural year, the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties Spring Clean-Up was created to help a neighbor in need by offering to clean up their yard. Ten nominations were submitted and reviewed by the five participating Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties brokers. They selected Patch’s home due to her physical limitations from her cancer struggles and the size of her yard. The office is planning to make this an annual event.
